Ceres Crop Management, LLC Ceres Crop Management, LLC
For growers

Dependable crews. Paperwork handled.

When the crop is ready, you need people in the rows — and a contractor whose records hold up. Ceres supplies licensed, supervised, bilingual crews from Kern to San Joaquin County and keeps the compliance side clean.

Why Ceres

What you get when you hire through us.

Crews that show up

We confirm headcount the day before, line up backup workers for critical days, and send a lead who knows your field.

Bilingual supervision

Every crew has a supervisor who speaks Spanish and English and reports to your field manager — so instructions don't get lost.

Compliance you can show

License, MSPA registration, workers' comp, heat plans and training logs — ready before day one and on request after.

Payroll done right

We're the employer of record: itemized pay stubs, overtime, piece-rate rest pay and paid sick leave calculated correctly.

The whole crop year

Planting, canopy work, harvest, packing and greenhouse crews from one contractor — scaled up or down with the season.

Local to the Valley

Based in Shafter, working Kern to San Joaquin County, and hiring from the communities around your fields, so crews live close to the work.

Compliance

The documents we hand you before day one.

California holds growers partly responsible for their labor contractor's wages, safety and licensing. So ask any contractor for these — we'll give them to you before a crew sets foot in your field.

  • California Farm Labor Contractor license — No. 1001171930. You can verify it on the Labor Commissioner's public lookup.
  • Federal MSPA certificate of registration — No. R-WE-CA-51224110-0128, including housing, transport and driving authorizations where they apply.
  • Workers' compensation certificate naming our carrier.
  • Written heat illness prevention plan and emergency procedures for your site.
  • Training records — heat, pesticide safety (WPS) and harassment prevention, in the workers' language.
  • CHP farm labor vehicle certificates for any vehicle carrying workers.
  • Payroll records for the hours and piece counts worked on your ranch.

  1. Tell us the job

Crop, task, location, headcount, start date and how long you need the crew. Use the form below or call.

  2. Crew plan & agreement

We confirm headcount, supervision, transport, shade, sanitation and pay rates in one written agreement — with our license and MSPA copies attached.

  3. Field walk & training

A supervisor walks the field with your manager. Workers are trained on safety and your quality and food-safety rules.

  4. Work, report, adjust

Questions from growers

What growers ask us.

Are you a licensed farm labor contractor?

Yes. Ceres Crop Management holds a California Farm Labor Contractor license from the Labor Commissioner and a federal MSPA certificate of registration. We give you a copy of both before we sign an agreement, and you can verify the license on the Labor Commissioner's public lookup.

How fast can you put a crew together?

It depends on the size, crop and season. Tell us your start date and headcount as early as you can; for most requests we aim to confirm the crew plan within one business day and send a supervisor to walk the field before day one.

Who handles payroll, training and records?

We do. Ceres is the employer of record for our crews: we run payroll with itemized pay stubs, carry workers' compensation, deliver required training in the workers' language, and keep the records you may need to show — hours, piece counts, training logs and heat plans.

What areas do you serve?

We are based in Shafter and work up and down the San Joaquin Valley: Kern, Tulare, Fresno, Madera, Merced, Stanislaus and San Joaquin counties. Call us about jobs farther out — we'll tell you honestly if we can staff them well.
